THURSDAY, AUGUST 9TH, 2012...REMEMBER THIS DAY
Today, for the first time in the history of the "Modern" Olympic Games, an Olympic Gold medal was won in the sport of boxing, in the Middleweight Class, by a WOMAN...17 year old Clarissa Shields from Flint Michigan, representing the United States of America...the ONLY boxer representing America to win gold in this Olympics, and the first woman EVER to do so in that sport.
God Bless Clarissa and our other two female Olympian boxers, especially Marlyn Esparza, who won the bronze in the Lightweight Class...the only two medals to be won by American boxers in this Olympics...and God Bless also ALL the countless women who have fought for over a century...in the gyms, in the ring, in the press and in the law courts, whose names and accomplishments will never be known, from all over the world, who made TJIS day possible. Every ONE of us is prouder of them than words can ever say. Thank God, I lived to SEE it!
"I once was young, and now am old...yet have I NOT seen the righteous forsaken."
